Cinema Studio is how Higgsfield handles cinematic video production. Instead of one-shot text-to-video, it simulates a film studio: structured control over optics and camera motion, AI actors built with Soul Cast, color grading, physics-aware motion with native audio, an AI Director that drafts shots, and an Elements system for reusing characters, locations, and props.

How do I use Cinema Studio 2.0?
Open higgsfield.ai → Cinema Studio → select version 2.0.
Cinema Studio 2.0 uses a Hero Frame First workflow: build a perfect still image first, then animate it.
Phase 1: build the rig and generate the Hero Frame. Configure the camera rig: sensor profile (VHS, Film, or Digital Cinema), lens, focal length (12mm to 135mm), and aperture. Use focal length as a guide: 12 to 24mm for wide landscapes, 50mm for natural human perspective, 135mm for portrait compression. Generate images, select the best frame, then click Use as ref for video.
Phase 2: direct the motion. In Director Mode, stack up to 3 camera movements per shot, for example Pan Right + Tilt Up + Zoom In. Set the duration, enable Slow Motion if needed, and generate.
How do I use Cinema Studio 2.5?
Open higgsfield.ai → Cinema Studio → select version 2.5.
Choose up to 3 Soul Cast characters from saved Elements, or generate new ones.
Define the location in your prompt.
Direct optics, motion, and composition as in 2.0.
After generating, click the keyframe and select Colorgrade to access post-production: Color Temperature, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Film Grain, Highlights, and Exposure.
Click Save to Elements to reuse a Soul Cast actor across projects.
How do I use Cinema Studio 3.0?
Open higgsfield.ai → Cinema Studio → select version 3.0.
Cinema Studio 3.0 reasons about physical interaction during generation: collisions carry real weight, AI actors move with natural momentum, and fabric and environmental detail render at a higher level than in previous versions.
Create up to 9 reference images inside Cinema Studio 3.0: characters, locations, and scene details.
Describe your story in the prompt. The reasoning engine interprets intent without requiring manual Start and End Frame setup per shot.
Configure the genre (General, Action, Horror, Comedy, Noir, Drama, Epic), the speed ramp (Linear, Auto, Flash In, Flash Out, Slow-mo, Bullet Time, Impact, Ramp Up), and camera movements.
Generate. The video includes synchronized audio, with sound effects, speech, and background music generated natively in the same pass.
Cinema Studio 3.0 doesn't accept external uploads: all content must be created inside the studio. The content protection system detects real faces and protected IP. If a generation is blocked with "May contain protected content," review your prompt and references and remove anything that could be a real face or copyrighted material.
How do I use Cinema Studio 3.5?
Open higgsfield.ai → Cinema Studio → select version 3.5.
Cinema Studio 3.5 adds AI-assisted directing via Claude Chat, an Elements system for asset management, and team collaboration.
Video-first workflow. Video is the primary entry point. Per-shot camera settings (Camera, Lens, Focal length, Aperture) are configured for each individual shot, while global project settings (Genre, Style, Lighting, Color Palette, Camera MoveSet Style) apply across the whole project.
Elements system. A dedicated asset creation system for Characters, Locations, and Props. Elements are project-scoped but can be pulled from other projects.
Claude Chat AI Director. The chat panel lives alongside the prompt box. Claude adjusts Genre, Style, and Camera settings based on the conversation, and can break a script into individual shots with camera parameters pre-filled. Claude-generated prompts populate the prompt box for your review before generating: Claude never triggers generation directly.
Collaboration. Team members can generate simultaneously within shared projects, and Elements are shared instantly within the project.
Native audio is not available in Cinema Studio 3.5: use Cinema Studio 3.0 if you need native audio generation.
Common issues and fixes
AI Director is not available, or the Pin action triggers automatically. Refresh the page. If the issue persists after a refresh, log out and back in, then contact us through higgsfield.ai/contact.
Generation blocked with "May contain protected content." Remove any real faces or recognizable copyrighted IP from your prompt and references and retry. See Why was my generation blocked for copyright or IP?
I can't upload my own photos or videos to Cinema Studio 3.0 or 3.5. This is by design: all content must be created inside the studio.
