A transformation is more than the reveal frame. The setup, changing body, damage to the scene, and return to the original character all need to connect.
Track what carries across each phase
In this example, the glowing chest core and extra arms establish the transformed body. Embers settle into rubble, and that rubble is still present after the character returns. Her glasses and the parking garage provide simpler identity and location anchors.
Pay special attention to consequences. If the creature disappears and the garage is suddenly clean, the clip has shown several states without showing how they belong to one event.
Compare the second attempt
The second version uses the same woman and garage. Follow her body, the overhead lights, the pillars, and the wet floor while the form changes.
Before judging the creature design, list the details that remain stable. They are what make the change readable.
