The dialogue tells you what the characters say; the edit tells you how the confrontation develops. Watch how the reverse shots tighten while the performances and candlelit room continue from cut to cut.
Check three things at every reverse shot
First, the eyeline should preserve who is facing whom. Second, the candlelight should keep a plausible direction and flicker. Third, each reaction should develop the argument instead of resetting the actor to a neutral expression.
Reviewing those elements separately helps you explain whether a problem comes from performance, screen direction, lighting, or the timing of the edit.
