Cast and clean the plate

Three competent character sheets do not play the same role. The first traveler reads too much like a villain. The second feels like a supporting character. The third has the natural skin, soft light, and wardrobe the source wants for the lead.

Casting is a continuity decision. A technically stable face that communicates the wrong role will make every later shot work against the story.

Remove failure invitations from the plate

The gas-station image has a useful three-quarter angle and the right palette, but it still contains details that can mutate: text, clutter, and distant cars. The first video test reveals that background cars keep turning into copies of the red hero car.

The successful stop keeps the important information: the traveler braces with her eyes shut, the bumper dives close to her knees, and the ending holds an awkward pause with her hands still raised.

Label every background detail safe, risky, or unnecessary. Preserve the geometry the shot needs, test uncertain details, and erase anything whose failure would distract from the action.
