Everything so far was generated from scratch. This part flips that: start with plain phone or laptop footage and paint the effect directly onto the real clip — no green screen, no rotoscoping, no hand-drawn mask.
A creature breaches the laptop screen
The first source clip is nothing special — a laptop sitting on a desk, its screen captured straight off. Dropped into Seedance 2.0 4K with a prompt, the screen becomes a physical membrane: a creature's arms and head push through it, gripping the bezel and the desk, while the room, the lighting, and the handheld camera move stay exactly as filmed. Only the creature and its contact shadows are new — the plate underneath is untouched.
Cyber hand, same source clip
The same approach is then pointed at a hand. Footage of someone looking down at a clenched fist gets a cybernetic transformation layered on top — panels peeling back to reveal cabling and joints underneath — shot horizontally this time, while the face, the office, and the camera move are locked in place.
Reptile hand, turned molten instead
From that same clip, a second version pushes a different effect on the hand: rather than scales, the prompt cracks the tattoo's lines into glowing fissures that spread into molten rock, leaving the fist reading as blackened crust laced with flowing magma. The only thing that changes between the two results is the prompt — the underlying footage, motion, and framing stay identical either way, which is the point: one real clip, any material or creature on top of it.
Erasing the hand entirely
The last option removes the hand from the shot altogether, with no green screen involved. The model tracks and masks the hand automatically, frame by frame, right inside the shot, so it disappears cleanly without anyone pulling a matte by hand.
Why 4K changes the outcome
The section closes by holding this footage up against older 1080p attempts at the same kind of VFX. 1080p versions tended to shift small details and leave the shot unusable; Seedance 2.0 4K adds the same effects without changing anything else about the details or the objects in frame.
The effects are built to sit inside the footage rather than on top of it — parallax-locked to the source plate with correct occlusion, the way the laptop-screen creature stays anchored to the screen plane — which is what makes real source material look production-ready instead of pasted on.
