My generation is stuck or failed. What should I do?

Higgsfield3 min

Most stuck generations resolve on their own within a few minutes, and what you can do depends on the stage shown on the generation tile. Credits for failed generations usually come back automatically, and every charge and refund is recorded in Manage AccountUsage.

My generation is stuck. What do I do?

What you can do depends on the stage shown on the generation tile: Queued, Processing, or Generating.

Queued. Hover over the generation tile in Assets: the Cancel button appears in the top-right corner. Cancelling at this stage works instantly, and the credits are returned. Cancel, then retry.

Processing. The Cancel option may no longer apply: the generation has already started on the backend. Give it time to finish or fail; if it fails, the credits come back automatically.

Generating. There's no Cancel option at this stage: the generation is running.

Why is my generation taking longer than usual?

Credit generations run in the priority queue and finish faster. Unlimited and free generations run on a shared pool, so they can take longer, depending on current load.

My generation failed. Will I get my credits back?

Yes. You get the credits back automatically, usually within a few minutes. Check Manage AccountUsage to confirm. Grok is the one exception: its generations are charged the moment they start.

What causes a generation to fail?

Content checks. If the prompt or an uploaded file triggers the NSFW filter or the copyright check, the generation fails and the message says so directly, for example "rejected due to copyright restrictions" or "IP detected" (the model recognized copyright-protected content such as known brands or actors), and the credits are refunded.

Captcha not completed. If a captcha appears before generation, complete it: skipping it fails the generation with "Something went wrong". Refresh the page, start again, and complete the captcha.

Heavy prompts or inputs. Very long or complex prompts and heavy input files can fail or take longer than usual: simplify and retry.

Temporary technical errors. These clear on their own: retry after a short wait.

What if nothing works?

If the issue persists across multiple retries, try a different browser or incognito mode.

If a generation is stuck in Processing or Generating, or credits weren't returned for a failed generation, contact us and include the generation ID, the model used, any error message, and your browser and OS.

Got any questions left?

Your parallel generation limit is full, and a stuck job holds a slot too. The limit depends on your plan, and for Unlimited generations it's lower than for credit ones. Cancel the stuck generation while it's still in queue to free the slot, or wait for it to finish. Concurrency Boost raises the limits: see How does Concurrency Boost work?

The generation has moved past the queue: it's already running on the backend, so the Cancel option no longer applies. Wait for it to finish or fail: failed generations return credits automatically.

Refunds usually land within a few minutes: check Manage AccountUsage, where each failed generation shows its refund.

Open the generation in Assets and copy the ID from the page URL: it's the last part of the link.

Some providers have their own safety systems that may flag content incorrectly. Try rephrasing and retrying. See Why was my content flagged as NSFW, and what can I do if it was wrong?

It depends on your plan: the parallel generation limit is listed on your plan's card on the Pricing page.
