When a young nomadic mother is forced to choose which of her two children to save from a wolf pack in a blizzard, she loses her little daughter to the steppe — and years later, when her village rides out to slaughter a "demon" child running with the wolves, she must find the feral daughter she lost and decide whether to claim her or set her free.
