Higgsfield connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible agents, with no API key. In Claude, add a custom connector with the URL https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp. In ChatGPT, add the Higgsfield Plugin from the Plugins Directory. In Cursor, add Higgsfield from the marketplace. In Claude Code, OpenClaw, and Hermes, the agent installs the Higgsfield CLI. An active paid subscription is required.
What do I need before connecting?
An active Higgsfield subscription and an account in the AI agent: Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop), ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other MCP-compatible client. No API key or additional setup is needed.
Which agents can I connect?
Agent | How it connects |
|---|---|
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop) | Custom connector with the MCP server URL |
ChatGPT | Official Higgsfield Plugin from the Plugins Directory |
Cursor | Higgsfield from the marketplace |
Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes | Higgsfield CLI, set up by the agent itself |
Any other MCP-compatible client | MCP server URL in the agent's settings |
How do I connect in Claude?
Open claude.ai or Claude Desktop and go to Settings → Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
Name it Higgsfield and paste the MCP server URL:
https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcpClick Connect: a Higgsfield authorization window opens.
Sign in to your Higgsfield account and authorize. If you're already logged in on higgsfield.ai, this step is automatic.
Return to Claude: the Higgsfield connector appears in your active connectors list.
How do I connect in ChatGPT?
ChatGPT uses the official Higgsfield Plugin instead of a manual URL:
Open the Plugins Directory in ChatGPT, or go to higgsfield.ai/mcp and select Add Higgsfield plugin.
Find Higgsfield and select Add.
Sign in to your Higgsfield account and authorize.
Audio generation and the Website Building skill aren't available in ChatGPT: for those, use higgsfield.ai or Claude.
How do I connect in Cursor?
In Cursor, open Customize → Marketplace and find Higgsfield.
Click Add and sign in to your Higgsfield account.
Ask Cursor to generate an image or video.
How do I connect in Claude Code, OpenClaw, or Hermes?
These agents connect through the Higgsfield CLI, which the agent installs itself. Copy and send this message to your agent:
Set up Higgsfield for me so I can generate images and videos from here. 1. Install the CLI: run
npm i -g @higgsfield/cli. 2. Authenticate: runhiggsfield auth loginand complete the sign-in in the browser it opens. 3. Install the companion skills: runnpx skills add higgsfield-ai/skills. Once that's done, let me know when it's ready.
Complete the sign-in in the browser window that opens, then ask the agent to generate an image or video. For more detail, see How do I access Higgsfield via CLI?

What are Higgsfield skills?
Skills are preset workflows for common tasks. You describe the result you want, and the skill goes through the intermediate steps (concept, script, individual generations) without separate prompts for each one. The full list is at higgsfield.ai/skills.
Skill category | What it does |
|---|---|
Marketing | Launch ads and campaigns |
UGC Factory | Create creator-led product videos, including Product Review UGC and SaaS UGC |
Faceless Content Factory | Create viral faceless videos, including Stickman Cartoon and Editorial Motion Graphics |
Utility | Edit, repurpose, and optimize |
Motion & Design | Design and animate visuals |
Website Building | Design and ship websites (not available in ChatGPT) |
How do I verify the connection is working?
Start a new conversation and ask "What is my Higgsfield credit balance?" or "List my recent Higgsfield generations." The agent will call the Higgsfield tools and return your account data. If it responds without calling any tools, check your connectors or plugins list and reconnect.

Every generation through a connected agent deducts credits, regardless of your plan. See What is Higgsfield MCP, and how is it different from the web?
How do I give the agent the right instructions?
The agent selects a model automatically if you don't name one. You can also specify exactly what to use:
Specify the model. "Generate a video using Seedance of a person walking through a forest at sunrise, realistic motion, camera tracking close."
Use a Soul character. "Generate an image using my Soul character [name] in an editorial fashion setting, studio lighting, neutral background."
Use a reference Element. "Generate an image with my element [name] in a rooftop cafe at golden hour." Elements are reusable references for characters, environments, and props, and you can use several in one prompt.
Audio. "Generate a voiceover for this text in a warm professional tone: [text]."
Check balance before generating. "What is my current Higgsfield credit balance?"
Approve before spending. At the start of a session, say: "Before generating anything, tell me the credit cost and wait for my confirmation."
How do I pass a reference image through MCP?
The agent can't read images attached to the chat itself: reference files reach Higgsfield through a separate upload step that the agent opens for you. Just tell the agent what you want to use, and it picks the right path.
A file on your device. Say something like "I have a photo on my computer I want to use as the character reference." The agent opens the Higgsfield upload window right in the conversation: choose the file there, and it uploads directly to your Higgsfield account. Once the upload is confirmed, describe its role in the prompt: "Use the uploaded image as the character reference and generate a video of them walking through Times Square at night."
An image from the web. Paste the direct image URL into the chat and describe its role: "Import this image and use it as the style reference: [link]." The agent imports it into your Higgsfield uploads and passes it to the generation.
A past generation or a saved character. Nothing to upload: reference a previous Higgsfield generation ("use the portrait I generated earlier as the start frame"), a reference Element by name, or a trained Soul character by name, and the agent passes it to the model directly.
For Kling 3.0 Motion Control, you need two inputs: a character image and a motion reference video. The agent opens the upload window for each, and you describe which is which: "The image is the character, the video is the motion reference."
If the agent asks you to attach a file to the chat instead of opening the upload window, remind it: "Open the Higgsfield upload window for my file."
Where do my generations appear?
All generations from connected agents land in your Assets at higgsfield.ai, exactly like generations made on the web, tagged with the MCP source so you can filter by it. Results typically appear within 60 seconds of the job completing.
Common issues and fixes
"Authorization with the MCP server failed." The authentication token has expired. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Higgsfield, click Disconnect, then reconnect and re-authorize. In ChatGPT, reconnect the plugin from Settings → Plugins → Higgsfield.
The connector appears connected, but the agent isn't calling Higgsfield tools. Start a new conversation and mention Higgsfield explicitly. Check whether the connector is toggled on in the current conversation: some interfaces have a per-conversation toggle.
"MCP HTTP exchange failed" in Cursor or another agent. A transient connection error: retry the request. If it persists, disconnect and reconnect the MCP server in your agent's settings.
