SYNOPSIS After a violent rooftop encounter with a mysterious figure in modern Seoul, a skilled hunter begins uncovering ancient symbols and fragmented memories that suggest she may not be pursuing a monster — but confronting her own inherited identity. As myth and reality begin to merge, the boundary between hunter and hunted dissolves, forcing her to question who she truly is. GENRE Supernatural Neo-Noir Thriller Psychological Identity Drama Duration: 1 minute 30 seconds Format: 8K UHD Digital Cinema Aspect Ratio: 2.39:1 Anamorphic Language: English Setting: Seoul, South Korea Director: Ana P Ai DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT The Ninth was inspired by the Korean legend of the Gumiho, the nine-tailed fox traditionally portrayed as a seductive and dangerous supernatural being. Rather than depicting the myth as an external threat, this project reinterprets it as an internal inheritance. The film explores identity not as something discovered, but as something ancestral — something remembered. By placing ancient folklore within a contemporary urban setting, I aimed to examine the tension between modern self-perception and inherited memory.
