THE ELF WHO SKATES

"She is not the hero anyone expected. She is not the hero anyone wanted. She is not a hero at all, in fact. She is just a girl with a board, and 300 years of not fitting in." We wanted to make a skate video first and a fantasy film second. Skate videos can often be docu/mocumentaries about someone who does not fit in. We just pushed that to the extreme. An elf in a world of grace and bunches of old expectations, and she's out there grinding on sacred stone. We thought it was funny. Then, as we were writing, she kinda got under our skin. Well, turns out it is hard to write about someone who does not want to quit without starting to root for them. #HiggsfieldAction
