HIKARU

HIKARU is a short narrative film that pays homage to the mythic grandeur of classic spaghetti westerns while reframing the genre through a supernatural lens. At its core, the film tells the story of a cursed man who, devastated by the murder of his beloved, sells his soul to the gods in exchange for the power to exact revenge. Visually and tonally inspired by the operatic scale, stark landscapes, and moral ambiguity of the spaghetti western tradition, HIKARU embraces long silences, mythic iconography, and heightened tension. Rather than creating a teaser or proof-of-concept piece, the intention behind the project was to craft a complete and traditional narrative film.
