Battle of Tolvajärvi - The Sausage War

The Winter War is only one week old, and Finland’s defeat appears mathematically inevitable. The front is bending on multiple sectors. Mannerheim reorganizes the command in Ladoga Karelia and assigns Colonel Paavo Talvela to establish a counterattack at Tolvajärvi, where frozen lakes and narrow crossings compress the enemy into choke points. This video follows the opening moves: Aaro Pajari’s night ambush at Kivisalmi, and the Sausage War.
