The Interview

The Interview is really about how we perform for systems that don't care about us. Every job interview is a performance where you package yourself into answers that sound right. This film just makes that literal. The questions aren't metaphors anymore, they're actual life-or-death trials. And the interviewer represents every institution that watches you struggle and calmly asks for more. But the real meaning is in the ending. He passes not by surviving the hardest test, he passes by refusing to play. "I don't" is the most powerful answer because it's the only honest one. Every other answer was performance.
