In a distant future, an isolated mining colony supplies vital resources to humanity. During an accidental explosion deep within the mine, a breach opens into an unexplored section of the underground. From it seeps a black, organic substance that releases spores, infecting several miners. The survivors are placed under strict quarantine and transferred to the colony’s medical facility. After weeks without apparent symptoms, one patient begins to develop strange, vein-like markings beneath the skin, resembling living scars. Doctors watch helplessly as his condition rapidly worsens. During a medical imaging scan, the markings suddenly spread throughout his body, invading tissues and overtaking the nervous system. The man gradually loses control of himself, as if an alien entity were taking possession of his organism. As the patient grows increasingly dangerous, medical and security teams attempt to neutralize him. The situation escalates when it becomes clear that the infection is not merely destroying its host—it is using him, learning, adapting… and may soon spread throughout the entire colony. Isolated, overwhelmed, and running out of options, the survivors are faced with an impossible choice: destroy the infected individual and lose any chance of understanding the entity, or attempt to study it—at the risk of condemning the entire colony.
