The Shadow that disobeyed

For his entire life, his shadow followed every step without question until the day it didn’t. At first, it was only a moment out of sync. Then it began to hesitate, to linger, to move with a will of its own. As the distance between him and his shadow grows, he is forced to confront a terrifying truth: the part of himself he never questioned is no longer under his control.
