THE PROTECTOR OF THE REALM

64

The real siege shown in the film is the Siege of Artagers (Artogerassa), which took place around 368–369/370 CE, when Queen Parandzem defended the fortress against Persian forces during the rule of the Arsacid (Artashid) dynasty in Armenia. In our story, this siege, Queen Parandzem, the fortress of Artagers, and the political situation of King Pap being in Roman territory at that time are all based on real historical facts drawn from the Armeno‑Sasanian conflict of the 360s. From that historical foundation, everything that follows—the duel, the precise battlefield events, and the detailed personal drama—is an original continuation written and directed by us, a fictionalized extension that never actually occurred in the chronicles. All visual material for this project, both stills and moving footage, was created using the Higsfield Cinematic 2 model for photo and video generation, to keep the entire depiction grounded in a unified, ultra‑realistic cinematic style.
