'Trapped'

“Trapped” is a dark action film in which a lone hero becomes trapped in a series of nightmarish worlds that shift like video game levels. He starts in an icy Antarctica, where burning cars fall from the sky, only to be thrown moments later into a ruined city shrouded in smoke and fiery, root-like tendrils. The escape continues across a desert that literally “defragments,” breaking apart into fragments suspended in midair, until he reaches a cyberpunk war zone of shootouts, mechs, and guard turrets. Each time - just before the scenery snaps into the next nightmare - the hero grows more terrified and begins addressing an invisible “creator.” He questions, begs, and accuses, as if he can feel someone controlling his reality. The finale reveals the truth: all these worlds are being generated on the computer of a game designer - a thirty-something nerd. But is that really the end…?
