Now or Never

Forced to leave her son in the shadow of a ruthless Mafia patriarch, she watches as the boy is slowly molded into a mirror of his father’s violence—a "seed" being fed by a "graveyard." Realizing that no amount of motherly love can compete with the toxic gravity of a criminal empire, she concludes that the only way to save her son’s soul is to physically destroy the world that’s consuming him. By sacrificing her own life to kill the father, she performs a brutal "mercy," burning the soil of his inheritance so that he might finally have the chance to grow in the light of a normal life. I had a lot of fun making this one. The major challenges I faced were maintaining consistency in character and maintaining continuity across shots. Let me know in the comments what you think.
