BOSHIN WAR

7,268

The Boshin War (1868–1869) was the final civil war of feudal Japan! A clash between the Tokugawa Shogunate and forces loyal to Emperor Meiji. It was not just a political conflict, but the violent collapse of the samurai order that had ruled Japan for over 250 years. Modern firearms and artillery met traditional katana and honor codes. Snow-covered battlefields became the stage for the end of an era. An estimated 8,000–10,000 lives were lost in a war that paved the way for Japan’s rapid modernization during the Meiji Restoration. This film is a tribute to that final stand, where loyalty, tradition, and survival collided.
