When I came up with the idea and wrote the song, there was nothing yet. But when I started generating it, I caught myself thinking about five times that I was about to cry. After my son was born, I became sentimental and nostalgic... Welcome to the world of grown-up children... When I was little, I was king of my room Plastic soldiers marching under cardboard moon There was an evil witch who stole my favorite car So I sent my best commander rolling into war He was riding on a rover, fearless in the fight Battles on the carpet every single night Pillows were the mountains, shadows were the caves Every tiny victory was something that I saved Back then the world was small But it felt so wide I was building universes Right there inside We grow up, but the toys remain Same old fire, just a different game From plastic guns to digital noise We don’t stop playing, we just change toys We grow up, but the dream deploys New worlds loading at the push of a choice No more borders, no decoys in sight Still the same kids, just bigger toys Now I’m grown, but I’m still in play Only now I generate my worlds my way Wanna be a cowboy? Saddle up, let’s ride Wanna be a Viking? Put the storm inside Superhero flying over city lights Police sirens screaming through neon nights Space invaders breaking through the sky Deep sea kingdoms where the shadows lie Other universes, bending time Chessboard battles, move by move, design Anything I want, I can deploy No limits now — I just press “create” and enjoy Different tools, but the spark’s the same Different rules, but we play the game Every adult with a serious voice Still hides a child with a favorite toy We grow up, but the toys remain Same wild heart in a bigger frame From bedroom wars to infinite voids We don’t stop dreaming, we just upgrade toys We grow up, but the toys remain Same wild heart in a bigger frame From bedroom wars to infinite voids We don’t stop dreaming, we just upgrade toys
