Enjoy a dream in 1950s Pirate Cinema fashion! ...The sea was glass, the moon was brass, A rusty saber in his hand, no soul to pass. He laughed alone, the rum ran fast shadows danced but none to cast The coat worn, once navy blue, A captain no more, not bold nor true. eyes are sore and there's like a veil, A filthy rag a crumpled sail. Rum and ghosts, they jeered his name, In visions twisted out of frame. He fought the sea, he taunted the sky, While all around, the world sailed by. The mast had sunk, the map was a lie, He fenced with ghosts beneath a golden sky. Each cut he made drew amber light, A madman dueling through the night. He screamed at sails that weren’t there, His crew all gone, just drench and salty air. A hundred ships he thought he sank, But woke on a rock, his mind gone blank. Who to carry his name? Who to recall his face? A captain lost in time and place. Was it the booze, or was it fate? Or madness knocking at the gate? Rum and ghosts, a siren’s cry, He fought in the dark, didn't know why. Abandoned there, no ship, no crew, A desert island, dispair grew. He sleeps in the wet sand, the sabre handle tight in hand A blade for the dreams, a fight till the end. The friends left , a bottle to obey — A pirate debt, never to repay - Giorgio Caprioglio
