【Story】 Heian period, Japan. By imperial decree, the onmyoji Abe no Seimei and the warrior Minamoto no Raiko set out to slay the oni, Shuten Doji. Yet the women who were said to be held captive showed no fear. Is it loyalty to the throne, or the pursuit of truth? Is the blade of extermination truly justice? And in the present day, the seal is broken once more. 【Director’s Statement】 This film serves as the prologue to a feature project I have been developing for many years. I have long believed that the Japanese monster known as the oni has the strength and depth to stand at the center of a major story. Yet its mythic power and complexity have not fully reached a global audience. With the rapid evolution of image and video generation AI, we are entering a time when creators no longer need to wait for approval to bring their worlds to life. I began this project to explore that possibility with my own hands. By actively incorporating AI technology into the production process, I am working toward completing the feature-length version within this year.
