Revenge by Chance

A homeless man near a bustling Indian bazaar is haunted by a recurring nightmare: a faceless man drags a woman toward a fire. At dusk, he wanders into a dim alley and hears a woman scream. He finds an older man restraining a young woman, and the cobra tattoo on the man’s forearm detonates buried memory. The homeless man explodes into feral rage, drives the woman to escape, and beats the tattooed man until he flees into the alleys. A tense chase follows through wet, claustrophobic lanes until the older man ambushes him and they brawl. The homeless man ultimately overwhelms him, leaving the man broken on the ground. As rain begins to fall, the homeless man’s fury drains away like a switch has flipped, his identity dissolving again. He stares at the scene with no recognition and walks back into the night.
