In the second installment of the wear-and-tear trilogy, “ESC” presents a direct critique of the practice of art in the contemporary context. The project reflects on our own participation as agents—and cogs—within a voracious cultural machine that makes no distinction between works with critical content and those that are purely functional, as long as they continue to generate industry.
