BULLETPROOF CRUSH
An underdog hero. Trained Assassins. One very, very, very steep hill. This short is a scene from a script I wrote after making my feature SHOOT ‘EM UP with Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti. I had always wanted to create an action scene in which a very steep incline of a hill played into the cleverness of the action. I created this video before Nano Banana made our AI creation lives better. So, unfortunately, all the image models like Midjourney were not good at visualizing very, very, steep hills just with prompting. Probably, they were not trained on abnormally steep hills. So, I fed Midjourney photos of San Francisco. The results were ok. The AI also did not want to give a perfect straight on side angle of the hill which would show the steep incline. I eventually pieced together AI images with stills in Photoshop. Then, I uprezed them in Magnific which allowed me to emphasize a realistic style. This made my side angle photo-collage-y stills look like a real photo. I animated in mostly Kling and a little Runway — And to get the hero jumping from car-to-car, I used Higgsfield AI as it allowed me to upload a start image with labels and text showing how the hero was to move onto the cars in the shot. The Higgsfield shot came out great.
