On the coast of an untamed land, a young indigenous chief and his companions venture into the jungle to hunt. It is another day in the life of their people: survival, family, continuity. As they pursue a wild boar through dense foliage, the village remains behind—calm, unaware of the danger approaching. But the sea carries shadows. A group of colonizers lands under a heavy overcast sky. Without warning, they advance with steel and fire. The village is overwhelmed. Warriors fall. Women attempt to flee. The chief’s son is taken.
