If Spacemen Weren't Boring
We want history to be dramatic, and the hero to be bright and charismatic. But real historical figures are often boring. Society demands not a fact, but a show. Not a landing — but a performance. As if an event has value only if it entertains. The irony is that if the astronaut were truly “interesting,” the mission might fail. Because space prefers boring professionals, not dramatists.
