LAMASSU

My story is inspired by the Assyrian civilization of Iraq. The Lamassu is a mythical creature and one of the ancient Assyrian artifacts, distinguished by the head of a human, the body of a bull or lion, and the wings of an eagle. These massive statues were placed at the entrances of royal palaces to protect cities from evil and chaos, and today they stand as a proud cultural symbol of ancient Iraq. The last winged bull was discovered in 2025 in the city of Mosul, where the events of the film take place, at the Kingdom of Hatra, which is also one of the ancient archaeological sites located in the city of Mosul.
